Sweden’s Ambassador for Arctic Affairs Helen Eduards visited Umeå on 20 February for talks on the future of the Arctic, regional development and how national and European Arctic policy is being put into practice ahead of the revision of Sweden’s Arctic strategy.
Approximately 100 participants listened to the first webinar on the theme countering foreign information influence in January.
Tanja Ellingsen from the Nord University in Norway gave a brief about Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI). She applaud the good initiative that has been taken in this regard with establishing the High North Civil Preparedness Forum.
How well do we really cooperate across borders in the high north? A new report maps existing cross-border initiatives in Northern Norway, Northern Sweden, and Northern Finland. It also highlights opportunities to strengthen coordination and preparedness in a region facing shared and growing challenges.
