The Arctic Ambassador visited Umeå

Sweden's Ambassador for Arctic Affairs Helen Eduards visited Umeå on 20 February for talks on the future of the Arctic, regional development and how national and European Arctic policy is being put into practice ahead of the revision of Sweden's Arctic strategy.

The visit was carried out in collaboration between Region Västerbotten, the Västerbotten County Administrative Board, Umeå University, Umeå Municipality and Skellefteå Municipality.

Part of the day the dialogue on Sweden’s new Arctic strategy was the focus, together with Västerbotten’s work on green transition, sustainable transport and regional development in an Arctic perspective. The talks brought together political leadership, government representatives and regional actors.

Helene Hellmark Knutsson, County Governor at the Västerbotten County Administrative Board participated and gave a briefing about the High North Cooperation.
